Fabaceous Broad Beans
25/11/17
Looking rather perky today are these broad beans, I sowed them in cells on 24th October in the (unheated) greenhouse
By 18th November they looked like this:
Now I have the headache: Have they outgrown their cells already? Will they survive the winter if planted out at the allotment? Should they stay or should they go?
We have the same dilemma with some flower seeds Sue sowed awhile ago. I think ours have their best chance if we keep them in the greenhouse over the worst of the winter weather.
We don’t sow any broad beans ‘til spring. Another thing to consider is will they provide tasty treats for hungry creatures when food is scarce over winter.
