Your beans look nice and green - unlike mine! I blame the compost, which I think had insufficient nutrients in it. Do you use home-made compost for yours?
Funnily enough I bought in some John Innes No2 for the first time ever this year. Not at all happy with it for beans and curcubits. After some early disasters (chillis and squashes) added plenty of "normal" multi purpose compost to open up the soil, and calm was restored.
