For the Record


It's great when the soft fruit gets going (and some peas)



Just so I can keep tabs here are the last four pickings of strawberry Marshmello on the scales - each at two day intervals:

Not to be left out the raspberries have started ripening:





Time to hone my preserving skills.  Judging by the mess I made of the gooseberry jam (it caught) honing is definitely required.

    Our strawberries are smaller than usual. What are yours like? As for mangetout, we struggle with them.

      Last year we got flooded at this time so any fruit is a bonus. I recall the first year of Marshmello we got just a few massive fruit. These are definitely smaller. Some of the plants don't look as happy as others and are only producing smaller less vibrant berries. Time for a revamp? Maybe after another year.

      I nearly missed the mangetout under the defences required to keep the birds off!
