I do love to see the swans on the canals and rivers...such a majestic bird that really deserves your respect...and often your distance when their cygnets have just hatched out.
There are some fearsome ones on the canal towpath.
I wonder why cygnets were ever dubbed ugly ducklings. They're lovely.
They do become quite gawky adolescents - on their way to pristine adulthood. But yes the cygnets are a fluffy delight.
