Yes the climbing French beans have caught up, the green and purple ones are harvesting well and the yellow ones are a bit less productive. But I think that is often the case with yellow beans.
We've tried salting, pickling, freezing even chutney in the past. None seems to preserve that freshly picked runner bean pod quality. Do you blanche them before freezing, Mark?
We are getting a healthy amount of runner beans too. Your courgettes are looking good mine have really struggled this year. I must be the only gardener to have an underproduction!
We thought our runner beans wouldn't amount to much too and they have come good in the end
ReplyDeleteHave your French Climbing Beans caught up, Sue?

ReplyDeleteSo far we've only had half a dozen green courgettes, Jo. (They were planted out very late.)
