Well, I had two kinds so I used edible podded to cover them both. For me, snow peas are flat, and snap peas are round. I plant these because the ones in the store are stringy and overgrown. I like the other kind of pea called English pea frozen and labeled petit pois. We used to eat the large mealy English ones almost every night when I was young.
'Marrowfat' is the adjective for the traditional mealy ones. I like petit pois too, although the name of the variety I grow - 'Waverex'- doesn't sound quite as exciting as the French name.
You are well in front of me. I haven't sown any seeds yet. Must make a start soon.
ReplyDeleteTwo points. I don't do any autumn sowing - except garlic and I now grow alliums from seeds, not sets, so I have to start early.
DeleteHello back. I'm planting edible podded peas today.
ReplyDeleteSame family. (Do you call them snap peas/snow peas/mangetout? or just edible podded peas)
